Chronic illness tracker

A symptom tracker app for people too unwell to keep a spreadsheet

A symptom tracker app for chronic illness, made in the UK. Check in with a few taps, write in your own words and take a clear summary to your GP.

Most symptom tracker apps are built for someone with energy. They want numbers every day, scores out of ten and a streak to protect, and on the week you most need a record, they're the first thing to go.

taluvu is built the other way round. A check-in is a few taps and it's finished. There's nothing to lose by missing a day, nothing to catch up on, and no chart demanding to be fed. What you write is yours, in your own words, and it stays on your phone.

taluvu is made in the UK by people living with chronic conditions themselves. It's written in plain British English, and the Doctor Summary is shaped for a short GP appointment, so you can say what has been happening without starting from memory.

A check-in, start to finish

Four small things, and only when you have them.

  1. Check in, in about a minute

Choose how the day went, tap the symptoms that showed up, and add a line if you have one in you. On a bad day, one tap is a complete check-in.

  2. Say it in your own words

The journal is a blank page, not a form. taluvu never asks you to rate your pain out of ten or explain yourself to a dropdown menu.

  3. Read it back in plain English

Your week is described in a sentence before it's ever drawn as a chart, and the colour scale is the same everywhere in the app so nothing contradicts itself.

  4. Take it to your appointment

The Doctor Summary turns your own notes into something you can read out, print or hand over. It counts the days you didn't record anything, rather than quietly pretending they went well.

What you can track

What you can keep track of

Choose your conditions and taluvu starts you with a palette of the things people living with them most often watch for. Remove what you don't need, add your own, and change it whenever you like.

  • Symptoms, in a palette that fits your condition
  • How the day felt overall
  • Energy, sleep and mood
  • A journal entry in your own words
  • Appointments, and what was said
  • The people involved in your care
  • What helped, so you can find it again
  • Anything you want to name yourself

See what that looks like for fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, Long COVID, endometriosis, migraine, PoTS or any of the others.

A quiet clay scene of a journal and a cup, the kind of small daily record taluvu is built around.

Built for low-energy days

Nothing in here is trying to make you track more

No streaks, no badges

Missing three weeks costs you nothing. There's no run to protect and no guilt waiting when you come back.

One reminder, at a time you choose

Or none at all. Nothing appears on your lock screen unless you asked for it.

Gaps are shown honestly

Your summary says how many days went unrecorded. A record with holes in it is still true; a record that hides them isn't.

Never a score for your health

taluvu shows what's worth noticing. It never grades your week, and it never claims one thing caused another.

What it adds up to

A record that speaks for you in the room.

Weeks of small check-ins become a Doctor Summary written from your own notes: what happened, how often, and what you said about it at the time. Not a diagnosis, and not a medical record. A clearer way to describe what you've been living with.

  • Read it, print it or hand it over.
  • It counts the days you didn't record anything.
  • It never claims one thing caused another.

Your record stays yours

Private by default.

Your check-ins, journal and notes are kept on your device, whether that is your iPhone or the browser you use taluvu in, not on our servers. You can export a copy or delete everything from inside the app. When you message Asha, your words are sent securely so she can reply, with some context from your device. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what, and nothing is sold or passed to advertisers.

Questions people ask

The chronic illness tracker, in plain answers.

Short, honest answers about what taluvu does and doesn't do. Nothing here is medical advice.

What is a chronic illness tracker?

An app for keeping a record of how your days actually go over weeks and months: symptoms, energy, sleep, mood and what helped. The point is being able to see the pattern and describe it to someone else. taluvu keeps that record for you. It does not diagnose anything or tell you what to do about it.

Is taluvu a symptom tracker app for the UK?

Yes. taluvu is made in the UK, written in British English, and its Doctor Summary is shaped for a short GP appointment. It's an iPhone app, available on the App Store worldwide. There's also a guide to preparing for a GP appointment.

Do I have to track every day?

No. A check-in is a few taps, one tap counts on a bad day, and missing a week costs you nothing because there are no streaks. Your summary shows the gaps honestly instead of filling them in. If you're in a flare, this guide to tracking a flare suggests the smallest record worth keeping.

Which conditions does it work for?

Any long-term or fluctuating condition, including ones without a diagnosis yet. Choose your conditions and taluvu starts you with the symptoms people living with them often notice, and you can change them. There are pages for 34 conditions, and one for symptoms without a name yet.
