What ME/CFS can involve
ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis, also called chronic fatigue syndrome) is a long-term condition whose defining feature for many people is post-exertional malaise: a worsening of symptoms after physical or mental activity, often arriving a day or two later. It isn't ordinary tiredness, and rest doesn't simply fix it.
That delay between doing something and paying for it is exactly what makes ME/CFS so hard to describe in a ten-minute appointment. taluvu is designed to cost as little energy as possible: a check-in is a few taps, and it never asks you to fill in a form on a bad day.
Symptoms checklist
ME/CFS symptoms checklist to take to your GP
Tick what applies to you, note how often it happens, and take it to your appointment, so the conversation starts further along. It describes your experience. It does not say what is causing anything: ticking most of these does not mean you have ME/CFS, and ticking a few does not mean you do not. Only a clinician can work that out with you.

The list comes from the NHS and charity sources linked further down this page, and from what people living with ME/CFS tell us they keep an eye on. It is a starting point, not a test.
How a day can feel
If your days sound anything like this, taluvu was made with you in mind.
- “If I do too much, I pay for it for days.”
- “Resting doesn't fix it. It never has.”
- “People keep telling me to try exercise.”
- “I get a small window of good and I spend it on admin.”
- “I've had to give up more than anyone realises.”
These are the kinds of things taluvu invites you to say in your own words, never a checklist of what anyone “should” have.
