Living with asthma

An asthma symptom tracker for the days breathing takes attention

A chronic illness tracker and gentle companion that already knows what asthma can involve — so you do not have to explain it from scratch.

What asthma can involve

Asthma is a long-term condition affecting the airways, and it rarely stays the same from week to week. Cold air, a cold, exercise, dust or a change in the weather can each make a difference, and the effect is often delayed enough that the trigger and the bad night feel unconnected.

Annual reviews ask how often you have needed a reliever and how many nights you were woken. Those are precisely the numbers that blur. Writing them down as they happen means the answer comes from a record rather than an estimate, and the tiredness that follows a broken night has somewhere to be noted too.

How a day can feel

If your days sound anything like this, taluvu was made with you in mind.

  • “I did not notice how often I was reaching for it.”
  • “A cold turns into three bad weeks.”
  • “I woke up coughing again and just got on with it.”
  • “Cold air catches me every time.”
  • “I say it is fine because it usually is.”

These are the kinds of things taluvu invites you to say in your own words — never a checklist of what anyone “should” have.

What taluvu helps you keep track of

Choose Asthma and it starts you with a palette, not a blank form.

These are things people living with asthma often want to keep an eye on. Remove any you do not need, add your own, and check in with a few taps on the days you have very little to give.

  • Breathlessness
  • Wheeze
  • Cough
  • Chest tightness
  • Fatigue
  • A journal in your own words, not a score
  • A plain-English week view of what stands out
  • A Doctor Summary you own and can print
  • Your care team’s details in one place

taluvu never claims one thing caused another. It shows what is worth noticing and leaves the medicine to your doctor. See how a check-in works.

A calm, colour-coded week view of someone's health story in taluvu, showing gentle patterns rather than a raw score.

Questions people ask

Asthma and taluvu, in plain answers.

Short, honest answers about what taluvu does and does not do for asthma. Nothing here is medical advice.

Is taluvu an asthma symptom tracker?

Yes. Asthma is built into taluvu with a starting palette of breathlessness, wheeze, cough, chest tightness and fatigue. You can add anything else you notice and write a line about the day in your own words.

Can I record nights I was woken?

Yes. You can note a disturbed night at check-in, so the count comes from a record rather than an estimate. That is one of the standard questions at an asthma review, and one of the easiest to get wrong from memory.

Does taluvu replace a peak flow diary or my action plan?

No. taluvu does not record peak flow readings, and it is not an asthma action plan. Keep using the plan your nurse or GP gave you. taluvu keeps the rest of the picture, in your own words, alongside it.

Is taluvu for emergencies?

No. taluvu is not for urgent help and it is not a medical device. If your breathing is getting worse or your reliever is not working, follow your action plan and seek urgent medical help. In an emergency in the UK, call 999.
