Living with depression

A depression symptom tracker for weeks that blur together

A chronic illness tracker and gentle companion that already knows what depression can involve — so you do not have to explain it from scratch.

What depression can involve

Depression flattens things. Not only mood, but energy, interest, sleep, appetite and the ability to hold a thought long enough to finish it. One of its quieter cruelties is that it edits memory: in the middle of a low stretch it is genuinely hard to believe there were better weeks, and equally hard to describe how long this one has gone on.

That is the narrow thing a record can do. Not fix anything, and not stand in for treatment or support, but keep an account that does not depend on how today feels. A few weeks written down, even a word on the worst days, is something to read back and something to bring to an appointment.

How a day can feel

If your days sound anything like this, taluvu was made with you in mind.

  • “I cannot tell how long this has been going on.”
  • “Everything takes more than I have.”
  • “I am not sad exactly. I am just nothing.”
  • “Sleep is either all of it or none of it.”
  • “On a good day I doubt the bad ones were real.”

These are the kinds of things taluvu invites you to say in your own words — never a checklist of what anyone “should” have.

What taluvu helps you keep track of

Choose Depression and it starts you with a palette, not a blank form.

These are things people living with depression often want to keep an eye on. Remove any you do not need, add your own, and check in with a few taps on the days you have very little to give.

  • Low mood
  • Fatigue
  • Loss of interest
  • Sleep changes
  • Appetite changes
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Hopelessness
  • A journal in your own words, not a score
  • A plain-English week view of what stands out
  • A Doctor Summary you own and can print
  • Your care team’s details in one place

taluvu never claims one thing caused another. It shows what is worth noticing and leaves the medicine to your doctor. See how a check-in works.

A calm, colour-coded week view of someone's health story in taluvu, showing gentle patterns rather than a raw score.

Questions people ask

Depression and taluvu, in plain answers.

Short, honest answers about what taluvu does and does not do for depression. Nothing here is medical advice.

Is taluvu a depression tracker?

Yes. Depression is built into taluvu with a starting palette of low mood, fatigue, loss of interest, sleep changes, appetite changes, trouble concentrating and hopelessness. A check-in takes a few taps on the days that is all you have.

Is taluvu therapy or treatment?

No. taluvu is not therapy, not treatment and not a crisis service, and Asha is not a therapist or counsellor. It is a record you keep for yourself. Treatment and talking therapies are things to ask your GP about.

What if I cannot face recording anything?

Then do not. There are no streaks, no badges and nothing that scolds you for a gap. The Doctor Summary counts the days you did not record anything rather than pretending they went well, so missing time is part of the picture.

What if I am in crisis?

Please talk to someone who can help. In the UK, Samaritans are free on 116 123 at any hour of any day, NHS 111 can give urgent advice, and in an emergency you should call 999. taluvu is not built for those moments and will not try to be.
